March 2008: In Training

Noah and I started out the spring by getting ready for Mt. Washington. It has been my goal since I got to CT to hike Mt Washington (tallest Mountain on the East Coast). I thought this would be the year, but sadly it's the end of September and it looks like I'll have to wait till next year.

March 2008: Easter Sunday

Grandma, Pappap, and Aunt Jess come up for Easter.

March 2008: Here Come Peter Cottontail

That is a rabbit treat that the lady is holding in her hand. If the Easter Bunny sits still and doesn't drop Noah, he gets a snack.

March 2008: Remember that scene in Poltergiest...

This was taken back in CT but it leads into a good story. Sarah, Scott, Noah and I went home to PA for a visit at the beginning of March. Noah tossed his cookies the first day we were there and I thought that it was due to giving him regular formula instead of the Gentle formula; however, that night I woke up with the stomach flu. The next day my mom came down with the stomach flu, then Sarah, Betty, Carly, Geoff, and finally Danny. The bug was so strong that Jen got it when Noah and I got home, three days after our symptom went away! Somehow my dad and Scott never got sick. They must have Superman strength immune systems.

March 2008: Beginning of March

March was a big month. Noah started sitting up on his own more, eating solids, and we flew back to PA to meet up with Aunt Sarah. Jen and I went to a WVU UCONN game with Jodi and Jason Geddes. We should have brought Noah along, maybe some luck would have rubbed off on WVU.

February 2008

Random pictures from February. Look at those Steeler Fans! It's never too early to pass on the Black and Gold.

January 2008: Feeding Time

For the first two weeks we had to feed Noah with an over-sized syringe. Needless to say this created several problems. First, he got a lot of air while slurping down milk so that led to excess gas. Second, the plunger would start to harden up after a while and would be almost impossible to push. This led to slower eating which infuriated Noah and also caused him to suck down more air...which led to more gas...which led to an unhappy baby. It was a vicious cycle.

January 2008: First Time in the High Chair

My mom is awesome! After Noah's surgery she flew into Pittsburgh from Chicago and then immediately drove up to Connecticut and stayed with us until Noah could eat on his own again. She also likes to give running commentary when taking a video.

January 2008: Post Surgery

Noah had surgery to correct his cleft lip on January 3rd, 2008. We barely got him to the hospital on time due to our GPS. I don't know why we used it, we've been to the hospital at least 4 times! Here is a picture of Noah 6 days after his surgery.

December 2007: Christmas Day

December 2007: Christmas Eve

We spent Christmas Eve with the Capane side of the family.

Lilly showed Noah how to open presents.

December 2007: We check out the lights at Ogleby.

A Christmas tradition!

December 2007: We go home for Christmas.

Noah visited Grandpap at school. He was so excited that he threw up an entire bottle all over Grandpap. It was so bad that my dad had puke in his pocket and shoe.

December 2007: Oh Christmas Tree

Jen picked this tree out in record time.
I'm sure the freezing cold temperature and high winds had nothing to do with it!

December 2007: Noah's First Snow!

This was about the extent of snow we got over the winter.

December 2007: Christmas Time

Noah got his picture taken with Santa at the mall...no tears!

November 2007: Everyone Loves Turkey

Jen can sure cook one heck of a turkey!

November 2007: Moose Lodge

We made a trek back to PA so that Sarah and Scott could meet Noah. We also had an early Thanksgiving with the Kaper side of the family. Scott made deep fried turkey and it was awesome!

Look at that proud Grandma! What a troop.

November 2007: Noah meets Aunt Sarah & Uncle Scott

October 2007: Halloween!

Noah went to a pumpkin patch and then we navigated through a corn maze. Everyone used Noah as a reference as in "We've already gone this way, there's the pumpkin baby again."

Looks like someone is ready for the submarine force.

October 2007: First Plane Ride

Noah flew down to DC and did great on the plane. We checked out the Museums on the Mall and Noah saw his first protest. We couldn't figure out what everyone was protesting though, it was like organized chaos.

October 2007: STEELER FAN!

It's never too early to start.
